A favorite part of our annual festival is the Crane Coloring Contest for kids. Ages 3 to 18 are eligible to participate, along with adults from Horizons.

Click here for contest rules and click here to download and print the crane drawing which was designed by artist Megan Westerkamp. A contact email must be included on the back of your contest entry to be eligible for a prize.

The coloring page will also be available at the Bud Werner Children’s Library, Hayden Library, Craig Library, and Oak Creek Library. Kids can color, paint and decorate the drawing and return it to any of these libraries by August 9, 2024. Completed pictures can also be mailed to:

Winners will be notified in late August and awards will be given out at a special ceremony at the Bud Werner Memorial Library during the Yampa Valley Crane Festival. All entries will be displayed at the library throughout the four days of the festival: August 29 – September 1, 2024.
