Calling all kids!

Join in the fun of the Yampa Valley Crane Festival by entering the Crane Coloring Contest.

Ages 3 to 18 are eligible to participate, along with adults from Horizons. 

The 2026 Coloring Contest page was designed by local artist Julia Ben-Asher. 

To enter:

• Download the coloring page below or pick one up from Bud Werner Children’s Library, Hayden Public Library, Moffat County Public Library, or Oak Creek Public Library. 
• Check out complete contest rules and information on the back of the coloring page.
• Be creative and have fun decorating your page!
• Submit your entry by August 7, 2026 to drop-off boxes at any of the libraries mentioned above, or mail your entry to: Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition, PO Box 1224, Hayden, CO 81639

Winners will be notified in late August by email. Prizes will be awarded at Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs on a special children’s night on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, prior to the Yampa Valley Crane Festival.

All entries will be displayed at Bud Werner Memorial Library throughout the festival: Sept. 1-6, 2026. Winners will also receive recognition on Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition’s social media and web site. By submitting your entry, you give permission to Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition to use your artwork for publicity purposes.
