A favorite part of our annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival is the Crane Coloring Contest for kids. Ages 3 to 18 are eligible to participate, along with adults from Horizons.

Click here for contest rules and click here to download and print the crane drawing. A contact email must be included on the back of your contest entry to be eligible for a prize.

The coloring page will also be available at the Bud Werner Children’s Library, Hayden Library, Moffat County Library, and Oak Creek Library. Children can color, paint, and decorate the drawing and return it to any of these libraries by August 8, 2025. Completed pictures can also be mailed to:

Winners will be notified in late August and awards will be given out at a special children’s event at Bud Werner Memorial Library on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, prior to the Yampa Valley Crane Festival.
