A favorite part of our annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival is the Crane Coloring Contest for kids. Ages 3 to 18 are eligible to participate, along with adults from Horizons.

This year’s Coloring Contest drawing was designed by artist Megan Westerkamp. The 2024 Coloring Contest has concluded and judging will take place prior to the 13th annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival.

Winners will be notified in late August and awards will be given out at a special ceremony at the Bud Werner Memorial Library during the Yampa Valley Crane Festival on Thursday, August 29 at 5:00 p.m. 

All entries will be displayed at the library throughout the four days of the festival: August 29 – September 1, 2024. Winners will also receive recognition on Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition’s social media pages and website. By submitting your entry, you give permission to Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition to use your artwork for publicity purpose.
