School and Community Programs
The Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition offers free educational programs about Sandhill Cranes to elementary school students, seniors, and other community groups throughout Routt and Moffat Counties.
School programs are geared toward elementary school students in Routt County, Colorado. The program’s learning objectives are that students will:
- Understand crane physiology, habitat, behavior, and migration
- Differentiate between cranes and similar birds
- Use artistic expression to mimic crane behavior
This program is geared toward third graders but can be slightly modified to accommodate other grades. This program is 45 minutes long.
Community programs are geared toward seniors and other community groups in both Routt and Moffat Counties in Colorado.
